DIPLOMAT SAFES OFFER SUPERIOR FIRE PROTECTIONThe body and door of the Diplomat safes are made of a thick layer of Styronite insulation sandwiched between galvanized steel plates. Styronite is a special fire-resisting material composed of inactive gas cells, which absorb the heat generated by a fire, prevent heat transfer and will not explode. The door fits into grooves in the safe body to form an airtight seal. This seal prevents heat and smoke from entering the safe. DEMANDING TESTS PROVE DIPLOMAT'S FIRE PROTECTION CAPABILITIESDiplomat safes have passed several rigorous fire tests, including a two hour test. Diplomats also have been given an A90 (90minute protection) rating by the Swedish Institute for Materials Testing. Smaller Diplomats earned an A60 (60-minute protection) rating. For example, during one test, paper documents, a camera and other items were placed inside a Diplomat safe. The safe was heated in a furnace for over 90 minutes to temperatures reaching 18000F When the safe was opened, all items inside were undamaged. DIPLOMAT SAFES OFFER PROTECTION AGAINST THEFTKey locks and four-tumbler combination locks with spyproof rings and dials are standard on all Diplomat safes. The keylock may be used alone or with the combination. A digital electronic lock is an option available on most models.Several active locking bolts are standard on all Diplomats; so are relocking devices on most models. Larger models also have top and bottom locking bolts. For added protection, recessed dead bolts prevent removal of the door even if the hinges are destroyed. Except for the smallest models, all have adjustable shelves and locking compartment drawers. Diplomats come in a choice of colors. All safes are treated with an anti-rust primer and a long-lasting acrylic urethane top coat. The safes resist scratching and maintain their good looks for years.
